Mobile Deposit FAQs

What is Mobile Deposit?

With Mobile Deposit, you can electronically deposit checks with an iPhone® or Android™ device that has a camera by using our Bank By Mobile App. Simply snap photos of the front and back of your properly endorsed check to make deposits into your account.

Who is eligible to use Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is available to customers who have:
  • Enrolled in Mobile Banking.
  • Downloaded the most recent iPhone or Android App.
  • An active deposit account for 90 days with a positive average balance (all checking and savings accounts qualified)
  • No returned deposited items (chargebacks) in the last 90 days. (Small Businesses no more than 2 chargebacks in the last 90 days.)
  • Demonstrated financial responsibility with all accounts

How do I apply for Mobile Deposit?

  • Log in to Online Banking.
  • Select Options > Mobile Settings >Click, "Mobile Deposit Enrollment" image.
  • Complete the Moble Deposit Enrollment Form and Submit. (Allow 1-2 business days for processing. Status of Enrollment Email/Text notification will be sent after the processing of your enrollment request.)

Is there a charge for Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is FREE for Retail customers and $0.50 per item deposited for small business customers.

May I enroll more than one account for Mobile Deposit?

Yes. You may enroll as many checking and savings accounts as you like for Mobile Deposit.

What is the cut-off time for deposits?

Deposits made before 7:00 p.m. CT will be processed on the same business day. Deposits made after 7:00 p.m. CT will be processed the next business day.

When are the funds available?

The next business day.

For example, if I use Mobile Deposit to make a deposit at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, the funds would be available Tuesday morning (after it goes through processing late Monday night). Remember, any deposit made before 7:00 pm will process on the same business day.

Another example: If I use Mobile Deposit to make a deposit at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, the funds have missed the cut-off for Monday business. They will process during Tuesday night's processing and will be available Wednesday morning.

Weekend example: Let's say I use Mobile Deposit to make a deposit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That time is after cut-off so it will process the next business day which is Monday. It will go through processing Monday night and be available Tuesday morning.

Holiday example: I use Mobile Deposit to make a deposit at 6:30 p.m. on Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Since there is no processing on Monday, Memorial Day, the deposit will process the next business day which would be Tuesday. So my deposit will go through processing Tuesday night and be available Wednesday morning.

What type of phone is required?

Android or iPhones with the most current version of the Bank By Mobile app installed.

What types of items can I deposit?

U.S. checks only

We do Not Accept:

  • Goverment Checks
  • Insurance Drafts
  • Non-Bank Money orders
  • temporary(counter)checks
  • Savings Bonds
  • Travelors Checks
  • Will I be able to see the deposit in my Online Banking?

    Your Mobile Deposit will not show in your Online Banking until after our nightly processing. However, you can see the deposit by clicking on 'View Deposits' within the Mobile Deposit section of your Bank By Mobile App.

    Do I need to use a deposit slip to make a deposit through Mobile Deposit?

    No.  We will use what is called a substitute (or electronic) deposit slip to post the deposit to your account.  You will only need to take a picture of the front and bank of the check being deposited.

    Does the check need to be endorsed?

    Yes, endorse any item transmitted through Mobile Deposit as “FOR DEPOSIT ONLY“ on the first line, "account #______” on the second line, and "Signature of payee(s)” on the third line.

    What are the dollar limits for deposits?

    The default limit for Mobile Deposit users is up to $3,000.00 per day with no monthly limit.

    What do I do with the check after it is remotely deposited?

    After you receive confirmation that we have received an image, and once you receive full credit for the Check, you must destroy the original check by first marking it "VOID" and then destroying it by cross-cut shredding or another commercially acceptable means of destruction. This should be done immediately upon confirmation but no later than fourteen (14) days.
